Insta-Weekend: New York City

I've had a crazy week traveling around the East coast, and I'm glad to be back in Minneapolis (even though it is a little rainy now). I wanted to take a quick moment to share some of my snapshots from the weekend!

I was in New York for 6 days and I spent it eating delicious foods - lots of doughnuts, and a sandwich with pickled blueberries on it (that's bold for me, because I eat like a 5 year old). I hung out with my good friends, and even got my first tattoo! I really love it - and even though that picture is a gross in-progress shot, it looks great and I'm so excited! I also walked the Brooklyn Bridge for the first time with my good friend Chris Muccioli - who I stayed with for half of the trip.

I was also lucky enough to be a part of Light Grey Art Lab's first travel trip to Surtex! We had 14 lovely artists meet us in the big apple to go through the convention together, and it was a great experience for all. We concluded the trip by going on a trend spotting mission through the amazing ABC Carpet store in Chelsea. Above are a few snapshots of my favorite finds.

At SURTEX and the Stationery Show I was able to meet up with my friends from This Paper Ship, Kate Thomas, Paper & Cloth, and Galison! It was a super inspiring trip and I can't wait to get to work with all my fresh ideas!

Paper Pops May Lookbook

It's been a whirlwind sort of week, I've been in Minnesota, Maryland, and Pennsylvania already this week, and I head to New York tomorrow night. SURTEX and Stationery show are coming up this weekend, and I just can't wait! In celebration of all things paper and stationery, I'm happy to share my real news for this blog post.

I'm excited to share that my work is featured as part of Poppytalk's May curated 'Paper Pops' marketplace. They just released the lookbook today, and it features work from a ton of awesome artists and crafters! My friend Jessie of Yellow Button Studio is also a featured seller.

Color Inspiration - All That Glitters

I came across this little gem while browsing my friend Kristin's Pinterest. It immediately caught my attention, it was just screaming my name. I'd say normally I'm not TOO mesmerized by glitter, but oh man - that color palette is to die for! I did my best to catalog my favorite hues from this image - which is a free iphone download from Eat Drink Chic by the way!

Visit Eat Drink Chic and download this image for your iPhone or iPod. I definitely just made this my new background.
